Developed as a not-for-profit social enterprise, YHLB is supported by the esteemed charity Versus Arthritis and has successfully undergone a large randomised control trial led by the York Trials Unit.

Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs (YHLB) stands as an educational social enterprise with the backing of Public Health England. This specialised 12-class back-care course, spanning over 3-4 months, offers a gentle, beginner-friendly, and mind-body-focused approach. Our YHLB classes not only provide a cost-saving and health-promotional solution but also present a lifelong treatment option for the prevalent and long-term condition of back pain. Recognised as one of seven evidence-based innovative interventions by Public Health England, this program extends substantial benefits to individuals, communities, the NHS, employers, and various public health initiatives.
