Calma Yoga is honored to be a part of the esteemed Yoga4Health initiative. A 10-week Social Prescribing Programme that aligns seamlessly with Jacqui’s commitment to holistic well-being. As one of over 450 experienced Yoga4Health teachers nationwide, Calma Yoga is dedicated to delivering evidence-based and accredited training under the guidance of the Personalised Care Institute (PCI). Which was established by the Royal College of GPs and NHS Improvement.

About Yoga 4 Health

Developed in collaboration with leading yoga teachers, yoga therapists, doctors, and medical researchers, the Yoga4Health programme was commissioned by the NHS in 2016. Since then it has demonstrated a remarkable impact. The initiative, initially piloted on NHS staff and later delivered to 279 patients in West London, has been rigorously evaluated by Westminster University. Resulting in published academic papers highlighting significant positive outcomes.

The Yoga 4 health experience at Calma Yoga

This 10-week social prescribing prevention programme focuses on empowering groups of 12-15 NHS patients to achieve lifestyle changes through daily practices. Tailored for individuals on a chair or yoga mat, Yoga4Health is suitable for those at risk of cardiovascular events, pre-diabetic patients, individuals experiencing stress, mild-moderate anxiety, depression, or those facing social isolation.

What to expect

Accessible To All

Regardless of your fitness level or previous yoga experience, Calma's Yoga 4 Health classes are designed for individuals of all shapes and sizes, emphasizing a non-competitive, inclusive environment.

The classes

Each of the 10 sessions will last two hours, and includes: Breathing practices Simple yoga postures Meditation and Mindfulness Relaxation and a Discussion at the end
